Hi, we're TechnologyAdvice.
Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, TechnologyAdvice helps millions of B2B technology buyers make smarter decisions by providing trusted research, practical guidance, and connections to the world's leading technology brands.
Our work spans 30+ media brands and 50+ newsletters, supported by a global team across the United States, United Kingdom, Singapore, Australia, and the Philippines.
We're a remote-first company that values curiosity, collaboration, and growth.
We invest in our people, embrace AI and new technologies to improve how we work, and create opportunities for team members to build meaningful careers.
Many of our leaders have grown from within, including our CEO, who started here as an intern.
We believe great work happens when people feel connected.
Through company all-hands, team events, Slack communities, learning sessions, and in-person gatherings, we create intentional opportunities for our global team to collaborate, build relationships, and celebrate successes together.
All positions are open to remote work unless otherwise specified in the requirements below.
The opportunity We're seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer who views infrastructure as a product and operational excellence as an engineering discipline.
You'll help own and continuously evolve the cloud platforms, deployment systems, observability, automation, and infrastructure that enable TechnologyAdvice engineers to deliver reliable software quickly and safely.
As an individual contributor on our distributed team, you'll independently identify opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, security, cost efficiency, developer experience, and operational effectiveness.
You'll own initiatives from problem discovery and architecture through implementation, rollout, measurement, documentation, and ongoing improvement.
This is not a role focused solely on responding to tickets or keeping existing infrastructure running.
We expect our Senior DevOps Engineers to understand where operational friction exists, identify recurring problems that should be engineered away, challenge unnecessary complexity, and proactively improve how TechnologyAdvice builds and operates software.
AI-assisted engineering is an expected part of how we work.
You'll use modern AI tools to accelerate infrastructure development, troubleshooting, automation, documentation, incident investigation, and operational analysis while applying the systems judgment necessary to validate solutions before they affect production.
Success in this role isn't measured by the number of infrastructure tickets completed or alerts resolved.
It's measured by improvements in system reliability, engineering velocity, operational efficiency, security, cost effectiveness, and your ability to independently identify and deliver high-value platform improvements.
The best candidates are naturally curious, highly autonomous, calm during incidents, and dissatisfied with solving the same operational problem twice.
They enjoy understanding complex systems, eliminating repetitive work, and creating platforms that allow other engineers to move faster with confidence.
Employment Level: Pro 4 - Senior Employment Type: Contract Location: India (Remote) Working hours: 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM IST What you'll do Own and continuously improve the cloud infrastructure and platform capabilities that support TechnologyAdvice's applications, data systems, and engineering teams.
Independently identify opportunities to improve system reliability, scalability, security, performance, cost efficiency, developer experience, and operational effectiveness.
Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using modern infrastructure-as-code and cloud-native engineering practices.
Engineer away repetitive operational work by building automation, self-service capabilities, reusable infrastructure patterns, and platform tooling.
Improve Kubernetes and container-based infrastructure to make application deployment, scaling, recovery, and operations increasingly standardized and reliable.
Own and evolve CI/CD and GitOps workflows that allow engineers to ship changes quickly, consistently, and safely.
Partner directly with Software Engineers, Product Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and other Technology teams to understand operational friction and build platform solutions that increase engineering leverage.
Improve observability across applications and infrastructure through effective monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, dashboards, and actionable service health indicators.
Lead technical investigation during complex production incidents, drive issues through resolution, and ensure meaningful incidents result in systemic improvements rather than temporary fixes.
Continuously identify opportunities to improve resilience, disaster recovery, backup strategies, security controls, access management, and infrastructure risk.
Evaluate cloud infrastructure and architecture for cost efficiency and proactively identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary spend without compromising reliability or engineering effectiveness.
Apply AI-assisted engineering practices to accelerate infrastructure development, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, automation, documentation, and operational workflows while maintaining rigorous standards for production safety.
Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term platform strategy, balancing immediate business needs with reliability, security, scalability, simplicity, and maintainability.
Define, document, and champion engineering standards, operational practices, reusable patterns, and platform capabilities that improve how TechnologyAdvice Engineering operates.
Mentor other engineers and help raise the organization's standards for infrastructure ownership, automation, reliability, and operational excellence.
