Director- Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Location: Pune, India Role Overview Convera is building a world class cloud infrastructure engineering capability to serve our employees and customers.
The Director, Cloud Infrastructure will be responsible for the technology strategy, security and enforcement of governance, integration execution and support for a cloud-based compute, storage infrastructure as well as network and voice/telephony.
We are looking for a forward-thinking technical leader who can build and lead cloud infrastructure strategy and execution.
This role requires strong understanding and knowledge of cloud infrastructure, networking and voice/telephony.
This role requires working very closely with business and technical partners across Convera strategizing on tool selection and implementation and integration programs.
Responsibilities: Own the technical direction, strategy, architecture, and execution roadmap for enterprise infrastructure, including cloud compute, storage, databases, middleware, networking, telecommunications, and supporting infrastructure services.
Define infrastructure architecture, engineering standards, reference architectures, technology roadmaps, and platform lifecycle strategies aligned with business and technology objectives.
Provide technical and organizational leadership for infrastructure engineering and administration, establishing scalable engineering and operating practices.
Lead enterprise infrastructure transformation and modernization programs, developing multi-year roadmaps, investment priorities, migration strategies, and measurable execution plans.
Drive cloud strategy and adoption, including architecture, governance, security, scalability, resilience, observability, and optimization of AWS infrastructure.
Evaluate, recommend, and govern infrastructure platforms and technologies, including technical due diligence, architecture reviews, integration strategy, and vendor selection.
Partner with application engineering, architecture, security, operations, data, and business teams to ensure infrastructure capabilities support current and future business needs.
Lead, develop, and mentor infrastructure engineering leaders and technical specialists, building organizational capability, succession plans, and a strong engineering culture.
Be accountable for infrastructure availability, reliability, scalability, performance, resilience, disaster recovery, capacity, and operational health.
Drive infrastructure automation and standardization, including Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, automated provisioning, self-service infrastructure, and repeatable engineering patterns.
Establish infrastructure observability and operational KPIs, including availability, performance, capacity, incidents, recovery, security, change success, and service health, partnering with Technology Operations on enterprise reporting.
Own infrastructure financial management and FinOps practices, including budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, optimization, cloud consumption governance, vendor spending, and capacity planning.
Partner with cybersecurity and risk organizations to implement infrastructure security controls, vulnerability remediation, compliance requirements, identity and access standards, and technology risk management.
Establish infrastructure resilience and disaster recovery strategies, including recovery objectives, testing, business continuity alignment, and remediation of identified risks.
Manage strategic technology vendors and partners, including technology evaluation, commercial negotiations, performance management, and long-term vendor strategy.
ABOUT IDEAL CANDIDATE Minimum Qualifications: Demonstrated experience leading enterprise infrastructure organizations supporting thousands of employees and large-scale customer-facing technology environments.
Deep experience with AWS infrastructure architecture, engineering, operations, networking, security, governance, and cost optimization.
Strong understanding of computing, storage, networking, databases, middleware, identity, observability, and enterprise infrastructure services.
Experience leading large-scale cloud migration, infrastructure modernization, data center transformation, or platform transformation programs.
Experience establishing highly available, resilient, and scalable infrastructure for business-critical applications.
Experience with Infrastructure such as Code, automation, configuration management, and modern cloud engineering practices.
Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure reliability, capacity, performance, disaster recovery, and operational risk.
Experience leading geographically distributed engineering organizations.
Proven ability to build and develop high-performing technical teams and engineering leaders.
Strong executive communication skills with the ability to translate complex infrastructure topics into business risk, investment, cost, and strategic outcomes.
Proven experience partnering with Application Engineering, Security, Architecture, Operations, Data, Finance, and business organizations.
Strong technology financial management discipline, including cloud FinOps, budgeting, forecasting, capacity planning, and cost optimization.
Demonstrated experience managing strategic vendors, contracts, and technology partnerships.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience leading large-scale data and platform migration programs.
Experience building and operating large-scale endpoint environments.
Experience with enterprise observability and monitoring platforms.
Experience with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow.
Experience establishing disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.
Experience operating infrastructure for high-volume, customer-facing applications.
Relevant AWS or cloud architecture certifications.
Proven success operates in highly dynamic and rapidly changing technology environments.
